Reshaping Our Future is a community-based project commissioned by Low Tide Properties. This project explores the theme of Imagination Applied. From a hoarding board to a digital lobby display, these pieces demonstrate how ideas evolve through the creative process.While the work reflects how our community is changing, it also loosely mirrors the experience of making mistakes while creating and maintaining an iterative mindset—one that allows us to pivot, adapt, and grow.

Living Lopsided: An Anthology of Memories

This is an ongoing project with the BCCH Limb Lengthening & Reconstruction Team. The goal of this project is to create patient-oriented media that informs, supports, and engages patients throughout their care journey.

ABOUT ME

Nolan Cheng is a Cantonese-Canadian animator based in Vancouver, BC. Currently studying 2D + Experimental Animation (BMA) at Emily Carr University of Art + Design, he is orienting his practice around digital animation with a focus on visual development and compositing.Accompanying his animation practice, he has creative directed projects like a second-place American Scholastic Award-winning yearbook. Through self-directed initiatives and animating for Low Tide Properties, he aims to explore creative direction and project management.Cheng works across a range of subject matter, drawing from his Cantonese heritage as well as fictional, futuristic realms. He blends contemporary and experimental animation practices, creating a visually iterative production pipeline.
